Hi! My name is Maureen and I live in a little fixer upper I affectionately call My Little House on the Hill (or sometimes the Little Shack on the Hill.)  The Little House sits on over two acres of gorgeous and neglected yard. I moved here in 2013 and have been working to make the Little House better one tiny step at a time since then.

By day, I’m a project manager for a small civil engineering company. By night and weekend, I’m a crazy person trying to cram in all the projects!! Re-doing my house and yard, bit by bit. Rescuing and refinishing furniture. Wood working. Sewing. Gardening. Dabbling in farm animals. Learning new things. Spending time with family and friends. Volunteering in my parish. It is a full life and I’m so very grateful it is mine.

I have two mutts, Daisy and Izzie, to keep me company at home and provide endless entertainment.

I live in a wonderful community of family and friends and have a lot of fabulous nieces and nephews (and nearly nieces and nephews) that enrich my life.

This blog is my corner to share thoughts, projects, furniture rescues, photos, recipes, and anything else that particularly inspires me. It isn’t glamorous, it’s never fancy, but it is always real. There’s a lot of real life going on over here.
